Speed is useful only when an organisation knows what it's speeding up. Automating an unclear process means producing more errors in less time.
Technology that accelerates a wrong decision does not create progress, it simply raises the cost of the mistake — a distinction organisations too often forget when judging a new tool's value purely by execution speed.
Leadership that measures automation's success only by the number of cases processed per minute, without an equally serious measure of how many of those cases were processed correctly, is measuring the wrong thing — and that mistake surfaces only after the damage is already done.
Real innovation must improve the outcome, demonstrability, and accountability. Everything else is technological decoration.
Management must not hand the final decision to a system that can't explain its data source and the limitations of its own result.
