Security isn't just preventing an attack. What matters is that an organisation can keep operating, determine what happened, and recover reliably.
A cyber incident can arise from a technical vulnerability, a misconfiguration, a compromised account, or human error. What they share is that consequences grow when there's no prepared response.
Access controls, segmentation, event logging, and backups must be regularly tested. It's not enough for them to exist on paper; they must function in a real incident.
At the moment of an incident, it must be clear who makes technical decisions, who communicates, and who assesses business impact. Unclear authority prolongs downtime.
A continuity plan is only worth as much as it's been tested. Data recovery, backup infrastructure, and contact channels must be available even when the primary system isn't.
For a digital portal, that means separated operational layers, controlled deploys, clear route oversight, verified mail transport, and preserved evidence of changes.
